Deeply passionate about social justice and facilitating and guiding positive change and development in the lives of others, I am thrilled to connect with you as you begin your journey inward. Healing is truly the risk of showing up for yourself and your resistance to temptation to go back to unsilenced needs, numbing out, disconnection, and erasure.
As a black, gender non-binary Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I have a personal stake and insight into the work I do. I established the Philadelphia Empowerment Clinic PLLC in early 2020 – in response to the coronavirus pandemic – and a critical need for culturally competent mental health services, clinical supervision, training, consultation, and community outreach to individuals, groups, and families throughout the Philadelphia area and surrounding regions. PEC’s mission is rooted in principles of social justice, trauma-informed care, community building, and excellence in service delivery.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that I play a small (yet significant) part in the battle of equality, civil rights, and service provision for marginalized groups as well as persons with disabilities and neurodivergence. My personal and professional values are informed by 10+ years of experience transforming marginalized and at-risk populations through social work, therapy, program development and administration, mentorship, training, education, and public health advocacy.
